Full home birth care package from early pregnancy
Booking a full package of care with me provides you with first class, evidence based, safe, individualised and more personal care, with an experienced midwife and expert in physiological birth.
The time I dedicate to you throughout your pregnancy enables us to build a mutually trusting relationship over many months where we can fully explore your needs, wishes, anxieties and preferences for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey in your own comfortable environment. Continuity of care is provided throughout, meaning you will have the same midwife that you know, trust and feel safe with, throughout the whole continuum. Evidence shows that receiving continuity of care improves outcomes and overall satisfaction with care.
Antenatal care starts from early pregnancy and appointments are offered every 4 weeks until you reach 28 weeks. Then I will see you every fortnight until 36 weeks and weekly thereafter until birth. You will receive on average 14+ in-person antenatal contacts, with wrap around telephone/text support. Appointments last 1-2 hours, longer if required and take place in your own home at a mutually convenient time. Evening and weekend appointments also offered. More frequent appointments can be arranged, if requested or clinically indicated.
We can discuss early pregnancy screening test options, diet, lifestyle, wellbeing, navigating the NHS maternity care system and reviewing your choices of care. I recommend dual booking with me and an NHS trust, so that if you choose to access any NHS care/screening tests, or require any emergency care, the process of referral is seamless. Collaborative and multidisciplinary team working across private, independent and NHS services improves safety outcomes for you and your baby with no delay in accessing treatment.
As your pregnancy progresses, antenatal care will encompass holistic care planning and wellbeing assessments of you and your baby ensuring that you feel well, your concerns are addressed and your physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs are met. This can include physical health assessments such as blood pressure recording and urinalysis, abdominal palpation, fundal height measurements and plotting on a growth chart and listening to your baby’s heart beat. Blood tests can also be obtained at home. I can also accompany you to any hospital appointments. Antenatal education, birth planning and preparation, breast/formula feeding advice, and postpartum planning will all be encompassed into your sessions. Throughout your pregnancy, advice and guidance will be provided to help ensure you have a healthy pregnancy.
I have a variety of resources you can access including information, literature, books and more. A colostrum harvesting kit can also be provided.
I will be on hand throughout your pregnancy and between appointments to answer any concerns, queries or questions. If you choose to receive blood tests and scans privately, I can help support you in arranging these and liaising with other services.
I provide you with lots of time. I have a small caseload which enables me to dedicate lots of time to my clients. The appointments are relationship based and client led, ensuring you feel cared for, empowered and educated in preparation for your birth and the postpartum period.
Research shows that birth in your own home is a safe option. You feel relaxed, calm and in control. You are less likely to require additional pain relief or need any intervention. Birthing at home, overall leads to better physical and emotional outcomes. I can provide you with tools to create a relaxing birth environment, such as providing a birth pool, TENS machine, aromatherapy, massage and other items. Entonox can also be provided for your home birth.
You will have 2 experienced, fully insured midwives on call from 37 weeks until birth, the 2nd midwife you will also get to meet during your pregnancy. We will attend to you when you’re in labour and stay with you for a few hours after the birth to ensure you and your baby are well. If, for any reason a transfer to hospital is advised, I will accompany you to hospital and remain with you for support and advocacy.
After birth I will provide postpartum care for 4 weeks (approx 8-10+ in-person visits with wrap around telephone support). Sometimes longer if clinically indicated or requested. Postnatal care will focus on you and your baby’s physical and emotional needs and wellbeing, with postpartum recovery, nurturing and nourishment being central to care planning. Feeding support, extended visits, practical help and support, assessing for signs of wellbeing or concern and offering newborn screening tests are all part of care offered and much more.

Smaller home birth care packages from 24 weeks
If a full package of care isn’t what you are looking for and instead are more interested in a smaller home birth package of care, I offer various options to suit your preferences and budget.
The reduced birth care packages I offer include elements of care as in the full package of care, however antenatal care will commence from 24 weeks of pregnancy, with 2 weeks of postnatal care.
Appointments offered at 24,28,30,32,34,36,37,38,39,40+ weeks
Summary includes:
Antenatal care from 24 weeks of pregnancy
On call from 37 weeks and home birth care with 2 midwives
Indemnity insurance
Birth pool, TENS machine, wooden comb and aromatherapy oils provided
X2 cylinders of Entonox
2 weeks of postnatal care
Total investment price of £5985
* For the above package but with only 1 week of postnatal care, the investment price is £5685.
The smallest home birth package I offer is care from 34 weeks. Providing enough antenatal care where we can get to know each other well, build trust and explore your needs and preferences, in addition to safety planning and risk assessing, is really important for your birth experience. This trusting relationship takes time to build, hence why I am reluctant to start care later than this. This package of care is ideal for those who have decided later on in their pregnancy that they wish to explore home birth or that their booked trust are no longer able to facilitate home births.
Care from 34 weeks includes a booking appointment and 3 birth planning sessions including mother and baby physical wellbeing assessments, home birth care and 1 week of postnatal care.
