The face behind Independent Midwife of The North

Hi, l'm Debbie, the face behind Independent Midwife of The North.

I have been providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care and support for over 14 years. I support both home and hospital births and believe everyone should be given a choice of how and where to give birth. I live on the borders of County Durham and Sunderland and cover all surrounding areas.

Midwifery is my passion and I am dedicated to providing compassionate, individualised, holistic, evidence-based and empathetic relationship based care from early pregnancy throughout the birth and postpartum period.

I feel passionate that you should feel empowered to make informed decisions to enhance your experience throughout your journey to parenthood and be made to feel confident whilst doing so.

I provide flexible, Individualised, continuity of care tallored around your requirements. I offer bespoke packages of care to suit your needs and budget from early pregnancy, including birth care and up to 4-6 weeks postpartum.
